Winter Coat Drive

Our Winter Coat Drive is an example of seeing a need in the community and taking steps to fill that need.

The Hudson League for Service initiated a coat drive after a member who volunteered at the food pantry noticed clients coming in without heavy coats for the cold winter months. Generous community members donated hundreds of winter coats in all sizes. Hudson League for Service members collected, sorted and made repairs as necessary. And through an incredible gesture of good will, Martinizing Dry Cleaning of Hudson cleaned all of the coats to ready them for distribution.

This has become an annual event for the Hudson League for Service. Coats are collected and cleaned by Martinizing of Hudson and are stored and distributed by Hope Community Church.

Winter coats of all sizes are needed, especially adult L and XL, and can be dropped off at Martinizing Dry Cleaning of Hudson, 118 W. Streetsboro St., Hudson. Questions can be directed to our project chairperson is Jeanne McKinny at jmckinny@gmail.com.
